Case Study: LGov
LGov
LGov is an intelligent local government knowledge base, designed to satisfy the information needs of local authorities and the associated private sector. Assimilating over 900 sources into a fully seachable database, LGov provides e-mail alerts and a live web portal to ensure its users can instantly access the news and information they need to perform.
How Oxlea Helped
In partnership with InternetCM, Oxlea provided LGov with the technology that underpins their service. Using the intuitive technology of ConceptSearch as a dynamic base, Oxlea used their experienced consultants to develop the search system in-house. Instead of normal search engines, which can only process phrases as single words, the LGov retrieval facility is able to understand the meaning behind multi-word queries - providing its users with more accurate and helpful search results. Combined with InternetCM's detailed compilation of a database consisting of 843 local councils, 66 government organisations and 30 publications, LGov is now able to provide its users with a responsive and comprehensive information system.
